19 October 2008 - THE GREAT SUNDAY LUNCH
Join us for ‘The Great Sunday Lunch’
Sunday 19 October
Age Concern Gloucestershire is inviting its supporters to join them for lunch by taking part in a new national fundraising initiative called ‘The Great Sunday Lunch’.
The first ever annual Great Sunday Lunch will take place on 19 October 2008. It will bring people of all ages together to enjoy a Sunday lunch and raise money to support the work of Age Concern – the UK’s largest charity helping older people.
There are many ways you can get involved. Why not host a Sunday lunch for your own friends and family and ask them to make a donation? Perhaps you are a member of a community group, a sports team, a youth club or a Sunday school who would like to run an event. Your group could host a dinner for themselves or for others. Lunches can take place any time in the week before.
You may want to get people to sponsor you to do something unusual while you cook or eat the meal. How about wearing your pyjamas in the kitchen? Sit down to the dinner table on space hoppers? Or eat your Sunday lunch using chopsticks?
Be creative. Make it fun! And raise funds that will benefit people in your local community.
If you would like to find out more, share your ideas or register your interest in taking part please get in touch with Joanne Terry, Fundraising Coordinator, Age Concern Gloucestershire on 01452 422660 or email jterry@ageconcernglos.org.uk.
