Spirituality

“I’m more than just a mind and a body”. “I want to right some wrongs.” “What has my life been about?” “I want to appreciate and celebrate the good bits of my life”.?

If any of these thoughts have crossed your mind, then our Exploring Spirituality project may be of interest. Age Concern Gloucestershire’s growing interest in the issues around spirituality and ageing, brought about by conversations with older people and professionals, prompted this project. A series of informal, facilitated sessions have been held which gave older people, professionals, volunteers and relatives of older people the opportunity to highlight some of the issues which concern older people as they age, and to bring to the surface some of the situations faced by care staff.

The project has a short while to run and we will be holding more sessions during the course of the year. We hope that the information and feedback gathered from these events will help us to look at ways in which we might support older people through the ageing process.
