Memberships

Age UK Gloucestershire is a registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. We want to make sure that we are open in the way we work. And we are keen that everyone who is interested in what we do has a chance to influence or contribute to it. Our membership scheme can give you this opportunity. It is your chance to make a difference.

Why should I become a member?

As a member of our organisation you can:

  • Vote at Annual Meetings and other General Meetings
  • Receive our bi-monthly magazine
  • Receive our Annual Review
  • Receive other mailing about our activities or topics that may be of interest
  • Have ‘first refusal’ for events where ticket numbers are limited

Everyone is welcome...

We want to make membership accessible to everyone who has an interest in our work. For that reason we do not charge for membership. However, if you feel able to make a contribution towards administration costs it would be much appreciated. We estimate that it costs us about £17 per year, per member, to run the scheme.

What do I receive?

When you join we will ask if you wish to receive information from time to time about our products and services. We will also check on an annual basis if you still wish to be a member, and what level of information you want to receive from us. The only information you will receive automatically is notifications of General Meetings. We do not sell contact information to any other organisation.

How do I join?

It’s easy to join and anyone over the age of 18 who is interested in furthering the work of our organisation is eligible to become a member. All you have to do is download and complete the membership form and send it back to us.

If you would like to contribute towards costs you can use our online donation service (click on the button above) or enclose a cheque with your form made payable to ‘Age UK Gloucestershire’. And if you are a tax payer, don’t forget you can Gift Aid your donation.

What happens then?

Once we receive you form, your application will be passed to our Board of Directors for approval. You will be entitled to vote at General Meetings 90 days after your membership has been approved.

We look forward to welcoming you!
