The Acorn Centre
Age Concern Stroud & District run a day centre in Union Street in the centre of Stroud. We aim to provide a welcoming and cheerful home-from-home for clients from Stroud and the surrounding villages.
Age Concern St Hilda's
St Hilda's Lunch Club
We are a small charity in Local Association with Age Concern Gloucestershire. Based at Redwell Centre in Matson, we provide meals at a reasonable cost and companionship for older people from the surrounding area on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. Transport to and from the centre can be provided at a cost.
We employ a part-time cook/co-ordinator and are supported by a team of volunteers. If you would like to join us for lunch or wish to volunteer please get in touch - all are welcome.
Age Concern Forest Of Dean
We are an independently constituted, managed and funded member of the Age Concern federation delivering a variety of services to older people living in the Forest of Dean.
What we do. . .
Meals Service
Delivering freshly cooked three-course meals on weekdays to older people at home and into luncheon clubs.Advocacy Service
Funded by Comic Relief and enabling older people to make effective choices on matters affecting their lives.
Age Concern Cirencester
Following the closure of Akeman Court, where Age Concern Cirencester ran a Pop In centre for many years, the group now meets at The Wheatsheaf in Cricklade Street. This move seems to have been accepted by the former customers of the Pop In Centre and is well attended. The cost of tea and coffee is subsidised from Pop In funds. Such is the popularity of the meetings that at the moment there are no vacancies so new members are not, unfortunately, able to be accommodated.
